TECH TEAM F&Q

A: Ours is a team effort. Each individual and each piece of equipment are designed to work together to
effectively deliver the message without distractions and create a great worship experience.

Q: What kind of commitment do you guys ask?
A: We know everyone is in a different season of life, and we want your time spent serving with us to be life-giving, fulfilling, and fun. Commitment levels and scheduling preferences are your opportunity to tell our team how much time you can contribute. We don’t want to inadvertently overschedule you, so we ask for your preferences to help us know what to expect from you. Below are different Commitment levels and Scheduling preferences you can choose from and update at any time.
MONTHLY
You are available to serve once a month.
BI-WEEKLY
You are available to serve twice a month.
WEEKLY
You are available to serve 3 times a month.
Q: How do I know where I am serving?
A: Planning Center is the web platform we use to send out scheduling invitations and view service order information. Through the app, you can view your schedule, accept. or decline serving invitations, block out dates when you’re unavailable to serve, and get all of the service related details and programming information you need to be able to prepare before you arrive. When creating the schedule, we will take into account your commitment level, scheduling preferences, and blockout dates.
Q: What if I have a conflict I know about in advance?
A: Use the planning center online to schedule a block out date. Here is a how to video!
Q: What different tech positions do you have?
A: Check out our positions page for all the information!

Q: How do you communicate with the tech team?
A: We want to be the kind of team that is considerate of everyone’s needs because every person matters, and we want to be the kind of team that values the goals of the team. Together we can accomplish something bigger than each of us can alone. As it relates to the platforms of communication, we use a few different forms: Email, Planning Center Chat, and via Phone.
Q: Do you have any outside tech team events?
A: We schedule outside social events throughout the year and have periodic training sessions in the
various tech areas. Info on these is posted on the Planning Center Chat as well as emailed.
Q: What do team members wear on Sunday?
A: Because we value creating an experience that is engaging we work to ensure we’re not creating a visual distraction with how we dress. For tech, we ask that you avoid bright colored clothing. If you are on any stage duties, we are requesting no shorts. Our goal is to be unseen as we go about our tasks.
Q: How do you train your volunteers?
A: We want to help you carry out your responsibilities effectively and confidently. To do that, we provide training for each role within tech to help you develop your skills. We depend on in-person trainings, video modules, and a four step process for each position to prepare you before the first time you serve on your own. During the four step process we partner you with a leader on our team that has the knowledge and experience to train and coach you to succeed in the role. After you’ve watched any corresponding video modules for the role, we will invite you to begin the process outlined below:
TRAINING PROCESS:
I = Leader • You = Trainee
Q: What do I do if I get sick or cannot serve because of an emergency?
A: Please let us know as soon as possible. During business hours (M-TH 9-3), call the church office
and ask for Jon. After church hours, call the church office and leave a message in the general voicemail
box. If possible, also send a quick email to jhook@tvcweb.com Please give up us heads up as soon as you
know. All the tech positions are critical to the success of Sunday.
Q: Where do I go when I get to TVC?
A: Our first meeting and breakfast is at 7:15 a.m. in the Auditorium.
We will break from there and go to our serving positions.
